This is a breakout CD for this group but the musicians have been steeped in Cajun French music going back for generations! Lisa Trahan's great, great uncle, Bixy Guidry, recorded Cajun music in 1932! Her father is well known Cajun accordionist, Harry Trahan. Louie Aucoin 's grandfather, Cyprien Landreneau, recorded in the 1950's and 1960's and played a key role in the revival of Cajun French music. Shannon Comeaux-Aucoin grew up next to her grandmother who spoke only French which gives Shannon a unique advantage of having one of the most authentic accent in Cajun music today! Henry Hample is currently one off the busiest Cajun fiddlers in southwest Louisiana, playing in at least five Cajun bands, sometimes all in one weekend! Kenny Alleman is a professional drummer and is Cajun through and through! He specializes In Louisiana music and he can't be beat on the drums!
We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed making it!
