This CD brings on the Chicago/West Coast blues sound that Blues Down Town was known for, but with a greater emphasis on Thomas Prim's guitar. The Full Hand of Blues band seems to be cheerful enough go down well with both tattooed bikers and tweed-jacketed stuffed shirts.
This wide appeal is clearly to their credit, and can be attributed to their well executed arrangements which retain enough grit and edge to remain authentic in tone and texture. It's not hard to imagine a small table in a room with lingering smoke, a beer (and, a shot of Gentleman Jack) and A Full Hand of Blues. Their slightly jazzy sounds fill this bill just right.
Personnel: Thomas Prim (guitar, vocals); Jack Ekeland (guitar, vocals); Markku Reinikainen (drums); Peter Boon (bass). Guest artist: Magnus Rydh (keyboards).
