Baba Blues is a duo consisting of Richard Daniel son on vocals, guitar and harmonica, and Clas G on the guitar. This duo arrived in 1986 and therefore celebrates 20th anniversary this year. Lately, it has expanded the duo to become Baba Blues XL. This XL includes bass and drums; It can also sometimes be added blowers, Hammond organ, kora and maybe something else. Then it becomes downright Baba Blues XXL. This great crew, with the exception of the koran, was present at the live cd/dvd recording, recorded at Mosebacke 17 March of this year. It was Baba Blues sixth plate.
Their debut album – Fishermen – came in 1991. Followed Kompassernas Men in 1993, The Balance of 1996, Excavations: Blues Is A Rainbow 2000 and so the strange Deep Down In The Mirror with her a little psychedelic touch, 2005. All tiles are recorded on the Rub-a-Dub Records in Stockholm, a record company with some reggae-oriented.
Baba Blues has during its 20-year period appeared frequently on a variety of scenes: blues festivals, festivals, rock festivals, clubs, associations, schools ... you name it. This summer appear to, among other things. at the Urkult Festival in Näsåker. This festival is focused on folk and world music. Not many blues bands are invited to this but Baba Blues ' music is interdisciplinary and can be enjoyed with great on-hand in different camps.
