Ila is a Genoese singer-songwriter who we had already known and appreciated in her role as pop singer, through the project Ila and the Happy Trees. The musical skills of this girl are really interesting so much that now, setting up a band of excellent musicians with whom she collaborated in these years, we find her engaged in a beautiful project that pays homage to the American traditional. Ladies and Gentlemen, Ila and Her Fellows.

A record, this one, which reread in an original way ten songs of folk-spirituals-blues repertoire of overseas, and usually it is not easy to amaze. Sometimes, in front of the rereading you can clash with something that adds little or nothing, or at most it can be nice. Well, here is another story. Here one remains involved, one gets excited.

The classics of the delta, I'll be so glad (which in my opinion, in this capacity would also envy the Portishead) (wonderful the arrangement of Stefano Galli on guitar) and Motherless Child immediately put at attention, the rarefied atmosphere and dreamy they kidnap us in a few seconds. (Translated from Italian.)
