Rooted in a fondness and deep-seated appreciation for the forefathers of American blues, Ship it on the Frisco packs traditional blues blended with modern day roots revival into one handy musical parcel. These native St. Louisans tell modern day stories of life and love in the River City (and other midwest towns reachable by freight train). UJ Miller's vocals swim against the current with soulful purpose. Scott Neale's blues harp adds the kind of grit you would find on a diesel locomotive. Kurt Jackson's walking bass lines thumped on his homemade standup washtub bass keep the tunes driving while Rick Nenninger's drums and washboard keep a purposely simple but delightfully edgy beat. The Down Home Blues Band is a proud product of the City of Saint Louis and the life that goes along with it.
