Founded the band in autumn 1982 with the drummer Horst Kehrer. Inspired by records by Muddy Waters and Sonny Boy Williamson, Mojo Kilian first picked up a harmonica over 30 years ago. Over the years his record collection grew parallel to his skills on the blues harp, so that today he is one of the leading experts on the blues and one of the best interpreters on his instrument. In addition, Mojo - the nickname is derived from a lucky charm that appears in many blues songs - has always sung: powerfully from the beginning, but in recent years also with convincing routine and melody. Mojo has led the Matchbox blues band through a variety of lineups, the current of which is by far the longest-lived.
