The 4-piece blues formation Hellman-Millstone & the groovin blues is after almost 10 years
back with a vengeance. After the release of the CD '12 way blues' in 2006, this
band can be found on many stages such as: Culemborg Blues, Bluezy Festival Ridderkerk,
Tros Muziekcafé and many other places. The last performance of the formation was on
the 'An evening with the blues festival' in Agnietenhof in March 2008. After 2 inspired
years, the band members all went their own way and the formation was shut down.
When the band members happened to meet again last year, a jam session was arranged
to recall old memories and one thing led to another. The band is back from
gone. After a successful try-out at the Rock and Blues festival between the dikes, the band is going
back on the boards. 75% of the original formation is back with: Joost Vermeulen
(guitar and vocals), Vincent Lichtveld (Guitar, Sax and Hammond), Thijs Refoealoe (Bass) and
with the new addition Nol Damhuis (drums). The band has not changed in style and the
evening promises a diverse repertoire of blues, combined with all possible others
styles, but with a heart for the blues tradition.
