Jacob & The Jackals is a good blues band to get acquainted with. Both of their previous releases have been solid, swinging CDs, with Jakob Steinwall's characteristic guitar as a trademark. In the past, their records have weaved their way through the southerna states of USA, but “Breaking The Spell" takes the trip to New Orleans on occasion. (Not Dr. John, but rather swinging New Orleans R&B as it was played in the 50s.)

“Breaking The Spell” is an honest slice of blues that promises a full party and is delivered under a full moon. Steinwall is a hard-working guitarist who knows his music, and he is a good singer as well. This CD features great authority and it’s ready to rock.

Jacob & The Jackals are a rock-solid Swedish combo, found in 2003. This is their third and best release containing a mix of Southern soul, down-home blues, some delta blues and rock 'n' roll. "South From Memphis", a 2007 disc, is a pleasant surprise containing eleven original and varied songs from the pen of Jacob Steinwall. The band has released four studio albums and have performed at many festivals and venues in Scandinavia and Europe, such as Åmål’s Bluesfest, Mönsterås Bluesfestival, Gothenburg Bluesparty, Norrtälje Bluesfest, Falkenberg Jazzfestival, Blues at Sea, Flashboda Bluesfest, Lysekils Bluesfrossa, Helsingborg Jazzfestival.

Jacob & The Jackals were formed in Vetlanda, Sweden, in 2003 and has since then been an element of the Swedish blues scene, from small clubs to Sweden's major blues festivals. Charismatic and intimate live performances have become something of a sign, and the band has also toured in Norway and appeared on national radio, etc.
