Possessing enviable guitar chops, a resonant and supple singing voice and an engaging stage presence, Walker Smith follows in the tradition of blues masters the likes of Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, Jimmy Dawkins and Jimmie Lee Robinson while simultaneously staking out his own turf in the lineage of Chicago-centric electric blues. Currently signed to Chicago-based blues record label Blue Skunk Music, Smith is a two-time winner of the "Best Blues Performance" award for the Tampa Bay region in the International Blues Challenge while his 2007 release Ahead To The Past was voted Best Self-Produced Blues CD by the members of the Suncoast Blues.
