My influences are Robert Cray, Albert King, John Mayer and even some of the later country artists like Alabama and Ronnie Milsap. I've played behind legendary bluesmen like WC Clark, Ike Turner, Long John Hunter, Matthew Robinson, Hosea Hargrove, Art Lewis, Don Bryant and a host of others.

I play in the upside-down, left-handed style of guys like Eddie Clearwater, Otis Rush, and Albert King, with the high E strung on top and the Low E on the bottom. Our style is modern yet traditional. We want to be true to what it is we love about blues music. But we also want to be able to interpret it in a way that everyone can enjoy, not just a certain age group. It kind of goes in and out of being a straight blues record to kind of a soul and funk groove throughout.

Ike Turner: "That boy is the truth. No questions, he got it!"
