Chicago bassist who worked extensively with Howlin' Wolf's band before stepping out front as a vocalist. The selection of songs on this CD reflects Mac Mahon's deep involvement with the Chicago blues scene as he performs numbers associated with Jimmy Reed, Elmore James, Willie Dixon and Muddy Waters the effectiveness of whose "Mojo" can now be compared with that of Lightnin' Hopkins'. With the guitar support of Jimmy Dawkins and John Littlejohn, Mac Mahon 's "down Home" blues style is brought up to date without losing any of its natural gutsiness. A classic session of authentic Chicago blues recorded on its home turf.
