Silvia Josifoska is one of the most important and original faces of the Slovak blues and jazz scene. Silvia discovered blues already as a teenager, and soon it became a dominant genre in her repertoire. Besides blues, Silvia was enchanted by genres such as soul, funk, jazz and rock. Ever since the first half of the 90’s, when she entered the music scene, she captured the audience by her unique voice color and strong musical feeling. At that time, Silvia was known from performances by the folk-rock group Sanyland or her own formation Mr. Band (with which she produced the blues compilation Blues Company No 2, 1998) and was quickly establishing herself on the Slovak blues scene.
At that time, she is accepting a collaboration offer from the top Slovakian keyboardist Gabriel Jonáš. Gradually, her collaboration extends to other elite Slovak musicians such as Juraj Burian, Martin Gašpar, Marcel Buntaj, Juraj Tatar, Martin Durdina, Erich Bobos Walk, Juraj Turtev, Stefan Lengyel, Ondrej Krajnak, Stefan Pišta, Bartus, Marián Ševcík and many other top musicians from Slovakia but also from abroad such as Stan the Man (UK), Peter Rowan (USA), King George (USA). In 2005 she released the first blues debut CD "Blues" together with her band.
Silvia has performed at many club and festival stages during her longstanding musical career. With her colleagues she has performed on stages not only in Slovakia, but also in the Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, Poland and Russia. Thanks to her inimitable voice and expression, many Slovak and foreign celebrities have invited her to collaborate on their studio projects, e.g. Jaro Filip, Richard Muller, Jaromir Nohavica, Janek Ledecký, Second Grass, Peter Rowan and many others.
