Heavy-Blues: Gaby Jogeix , release of the new album “Meanwhile in New Orleans” on April 16, 2021, via Enghardt Media. This album was recorded at Marigny Studios, a former Dance Hall in the Marigny district where Fats Domino played in the 60s.
Drummer and producer Alain Baudry , the local “link”, has selected internationally renowned musicians such as Eddie Christmas (drums), Kennan Shaw (bass) and Tom Worrell (piano, organ, keyboards), as well as the voices of Dana Abbot and Jamey Saint Pierre . Marigny studio owner Rick G Nelson co-produced the recording.
Gaby Jogeix has already recorded 3 albums. He is a self-taught musician of French and Spanish origin, born in Bilbao (Basque Country), now based in Madrid. He started playing at the age of 17 and immediately started experimenting and finding “the sounds he had in his head”. From the start he knew he wanted to play the Blues and was heavily influenced by Elmore James, Laverne Baker, BB King, Elvis, Ray Charles, Albert Collins, Derek Trucks and Doyle Bramhall II, among others. He also discovered the lap steel guitar: “The sounds that the lap steel transmits are the closest to the human voice that we can find. This is what fascinated me and why I continued to work on his technique."
