Featuring tracks including 'Tribute to Chuck Berry' written by Wood and 'Worried Life Blues' written by Maceo Merriweather, and with the album artwork hand-painted by Ronnie himself, Mad Lad will be available digitally, on CD, on heavyweight vinyl, deluxe box set (CD, LP and 12x12 artcard of the album artwork) and in a super deluxe limited-edition box set (including CD, LP, 12x12 art print, signed and numbered set list and T-Shirt).

The album will be the first in a trilogy to be recorded by Wood and the band in the coming years, each paying tribute to Ronnie’s musical heroes. Ronnie chose Chuck Berry for the first album as he has been a lifelong fan, has toured with him and also, to honour his sad passing just over two years ago

As fashionable as concert sit-ins have come to be in recent years, such guesting can be the bane of the live performance. So often it is the case that such invitees can interrupts the flow and/or momentum rather than nurturing it. However, Jeff Beck's August 2016 celebration in Los Angeles of his fiftieth anniversary is the exception to that rule: the stream of diverse personnel is of a piece with the stylistic history the event represents.

Live at the Hollywood Bowl is quite likely everything the attendee would want to hear at one of the British guitarist's shows. Jeff Beck paid fitting tribute to Les Paul last summer, celebrating what would have been the pioneering guitarist's 95th birthday by playing his friend and mentor's music, along with classic tunes from the era, in the same Times Square nightclub that Les Paul played every Monday for 14 years, before his death in August 2009.

Sponsored by Gibson Guitar and billed as 'A Celebration of Les Paul,' Jeff Beck was joined by The Imelda May Band at the Iridium Jazz Club on June 9th, 2010. The two-time Rock And Roll Hall of Fame inductee mesmerized the star-studded audience with a tour de force performance of classics that Paul recorded with Mary Ford, 'How High The Moon,' 'Vaya Con Dios' and 'Mockin' Bird Hill,' along with such rock and roll standards as 'Twenty Flight Rock' and 'Walking In The Sand.'

Following this release, Beck will take the 'Rock And Roll Party' on the road for a short U.S. tour. Beck will once again be backed by The Imelda May Band and its enchanting singer, Imelda May, who joined Beck on stage at the 2010 Grammy® Awards for a spot-on rendition of Paul's 'How High The Moon.'

PBS will give fans a first look at a unique edition of this performance with the premiere of 'Jeff Beck Honors Les Paul,' a concert special that captures the first night of 'The Celebration to Honor Les Paul,' which was recorded on June 9, 2010, what would have been Les Paul's 95th birthday. Special guest performers included Troy 'Trombone Shorty' Andrews, Gary U.S. Bonds and Brian Setzer, who traded riffs with Beck on Eddie Cochran's rockabilly classic 'Twenty Flight Rock.'

For the very first time, Rockstar has now released the two complete sets by Darrel Higham and The Enforcers, which were recorded on the 5th December 2002. On this occasion Imelda May (Mrs Higham) was the special guest and sung a very provocative version of Dharma Blues Band's 'Dealing With The Devil'. Imelda was, at that time, lead singer with the Blue Harlem Band. Darrel's performances mainly consists of rock 'n' roll classics with emphasis on his heroes such as Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent and Elvis Presley. A limited edition of Darrel's Thunderbird show was issued in 2004 by Rockstar which was edited down for a single CD due to the length of the original recordings of over 110 minutes. Now you have the complete show (2 sets) with various previous unreleased material by Darrel who is backed by two of rock 'n' roll's best musicians, Mick Wigfell on upright bass and Rob Tyler on drums, The Enforcers. The twelve page booklet features some previously unseen photos of the show which were taken by Steve Aynsley who has also revised the booklet notes. On the 23rd August 1998 Rockstar Records arranged for rockabilly legend Ray Campi to be professionally recorded for CD release at the now legendary Thunderbird Rock 'n' Roll Venue in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. Darrel Higham was Ray's special guest and backed up by him on upright bass. We have included Darrel's performance from Ray's show as bonus tracks on this new double CD release.

The album was produced by T Bone Burnett, and features guest appearances by Jools Holland and Jeff Beck. The album marks a new direction for Maywho recently ended her marriage of eighteen years, making Life, Love, Flesh, Blood her most autobiographical record to date. Imelda May began her career in music at 16 by performing with a number of local bands and musician, before she formed her own band in 2002. Although known primarily as a singer, she also plays the bodhrán, guitar, bass guitar and tambourine. Described as "a unique vocal talent," May is known for her musical style of rockabilly revival and has also been compared to female jazz musicians such as Billie Holiday. She won the Best Female Artist of the Year award at the 2009 Meteor Awards.

Imelda May, born in Dublin and formerly the singer of the bluesy jazz outfit Blue Harlem, has captured the attention of the United Kingdom with ths release. It's a striking gumbo of tough boogie-woogie, streetwise razor-edged rockabilly, intimate sultry vocal jazz, and sassy jump blues. May wrote all but two of the set's 12 tracks and produced the set; she also plays the bodhran, an Irish percussion instrument from antiquity. She's surrounded herself with an ace band that includes her husband, guitarist Darrell Higham, trumpeter Dave Priseman (who also plays flügelhorn and percussion), pianist and organist Danny McCormack, bassist Al Gare, and drummer Dean Beresford. The kickoff is the stomping rockabilly of "Johnny Got a Boom Boom" (infer what you might from the title). With a slapping double bassline intro, the drum kit latches on and takes it for another eight measures before Higham's nasty guitar begins its cutting strut. But May's vocal tops it all and swaggers confidently with its expression of raw sensuality. This is a love song from the streets, but it isn't trashy. It's got its own kind of in-your-face class. Contrast this with the gorgeous bluesy ballad "Knock 123," with its slow walking piano and basslines and a halting guitar figure, and May's voice all croon and caress. The title track is a wild stomp and roll where blues, rock & roll, country, and boogie collide behind her blues shout. May is a trained vocalist to be sure, but when the material calls for it, her voice contains a certain rough grain -- earthy, raw, and full of unbridled passion. It's even evident in the country ballad "Falling in Love with You Again" (one of the tracks where her bodhran can be heard prominently). The lilt, grace, and haggard elegance of her voice reveal an entire well of feeling that seems to bubble up effortlessly yet without artifice. The entire album is deliciously and unabashedly retro, but comes off as spontaneous, fresh, and full of adventure. The uptempo tunes are simply unhinged, while the ballads are full of authentic emotion. -- Allmusic.

Imelda May - 3 albums: Tribal / More Mayhem / No Turning Back

Imelda May, born in Dublin and raised in the Liberties, may be an unknown name to some, but to many she is already a superstar. She is unmistakable both in her music (a fusion of surf guitars, blues and rockabilly that wouldn't be out of place in a David Lynch film) and her style, with a solitary curl and shock of blonde in her jet black hair. In Ireland, her debut album `Love Tattoo', which she recorded and released on her own label, has gone Triple Platinum. She has shared a stage with Eric Clapton, Chuck Berry, David Gilmour, Sharon Shannon, Jeff Beck, Shane Macgowan, Kirsty McCall, Van Morrison, Lionel Richie, Wanda Jackson, Paul Brady and Meatloaf. And now, with the release of her new album "Mayhem", she is about to go stellar.

Being the youngest of five siblings , Imelda was the most susceptible to the various influences from her older brothers and sisters, which she could hear constantly through the walls of their two bedroom house. There was folk, the obligatory chart pop, and then there was Elvis. "My brother was a mad Elvis fan, and I found a tape in his room with Elvis, Eddie Cochran and Gene Vincent. I thought the music was fantastic."

By the age of nine Imelda had fallen in love with rockabilly and the blues - the only kid in her class who wasn't into Wet Wet Wet. Singing along to rock n roll from an early age, her tastes began to develop and deepen, first with Elmore James and then - " I heard Billie Holiday, and that blew my mind." After a year of art college she dropped out, deciding she would rather sing for a living. At that point, her professional experience was confined to having sung on an ad for Findus Fish Fingers at 14. "A girl in The Liberties was in the music business and she got me this ad, where I sang, `Betcha never put your finger on a crunchier crumb!' I got £40 for it!" She quickly found work singing with the swing troupe Blue Harlem and rock n roller Mike Sanchez and had an interesting spell of singing in burlesque clubs: "I'd sing while the other girls were onstage. One of them used to take an angle grinder to her crotch and would produce a shower of sparks. One day a spark flew down my throat when I was singing!"

Imelda began singing in clubs when she was 16 years old and had the honour of being occasionally barred from her own shows at Dublin's Bruxelles club for being underage. "I was getting tips from the best musicians in Dublin. One of them said, `Your voice is great, but it needs to roughen." It was around this time, when driving a tearful Imelda to a gig, that her father asked her "Is your heart broken? Excellent. Now you can sing the blues". Remembered by Imelda as a turning point in her life, from then on her voice developed into the sultry, rich and unique tone you hear today.
