Incorporating an exhilarating back-porch section to their set with resonator, washboard and ukulele bass, The Hardchargers are steeped in inspiration from the greats of the pre-electric blues Blind Willie McTell, Blind Willie Johnson, Bukka White, Willie Brown to the progenitors of electric blues such as Lightnin' Hopkins, Howlin' Wolf and Frankie Lee Simms.
Featuring 'Lonesome' Chris Todd (guitars/vocal), Richard J. Hodgen (drums/washboard) and Dave Thompson (bass/ukulele bass), the band has been paying its dues on the live circuit for the past eight years.
After a slew of single releases, the trio's late 2017 debut album 'Scarecrow' constitutes a truly high-octane and contemporary set that nonetheless summons at times and most deliciously the spirit of British genre giants Savoy Brown and The Groundhogs.
