This CD marks the 4th release for Flattop Tom & His Jump Cats. This 8-piece band was formed in 1992 and has been a major force on the blues and retro swing scene. They have played across the US, Canada and Europe at major blues festivals, swing dance clubs and night clubs, including the House of Blues, BB King's and The Derby.

On the blues scene, the band has played bills with top artists William Clarke, Rod Piazza, Paul DeLay, James Harman, Charlie Musselwhite, Billy Boy Arnold, John Hammond, Magic and others. Tom has participated in many harmonica battle shows and has been sponsored by Hohner Harmonica since 1994. On the retro swing and roots rock scene, the band has played top bills with bands like Royal Crown Revue, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, The Blasters, James Intveld, Big Sandy, Russell Scott, Joe Houston, Big Jay McNeeley, Dick Dale, Jan And Dean and others.

Aside from the blues, Tom enjoys playing for dancers, and as an avid dancer, he has won several jitterbug contests. Tom also danced in the movies "Swingers" and "Shout" starring John Travolta.

Flattop Tom is also a professional swing dancer and prides himself in keeping tempos right for dancers, but they're fun to watch and listen to, as well. Tom is known as one of the best harmonica players on the West Coast and has been sponsored by Hohner Harmonica since 1994. He has played in many harmonica battle shows and is a disciple of the late, great William Clarke.

This CD, Jumpin Blues for Your Dancin Shoes, is the bands'first CD and showcases one of the west coast's best swing and jump blues bands.
