Formed in 2001, Daddy Long Legs focused on developing their own songs and sounds, trying to emulate, but not imitate, their favourite blues artists. This hard work led to recognition from within the Canadian Blues community, as Daddy Long Legs were finalists in the 2004 Toronto Blues Society New Talent Search. This was followed by a Maple Blues Award in 2008 for best New Artist, a Canadian Independent Music Award in 2009 for Favourite Blues Band, and a chance to represent the Grand River Blues Society in the 2009 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN.

With an almost cult-like status in Southern Ontario and well known for their raucous and energetic live performances, Daddy Long Legs are the harbingers of Canadian garage blues; ragged and greasy in all the right places, with snarling tones that hit like a hammer and roll steady like a steamroller. With much respect to the giants of blues from the past, Daddy Long Legs are blazing a new trail for the blues, giving it a new vital voice and developing a devoted following of blues fans of all ages.

Featuring Mike Elliott on guitar and vocals, Chris “Junior” Malleck on harmonica, Steve Toms on bass, and Jeff Wagner on drums, The Devil’s in the Details is comprised of 11 original tracks complete with hard-drinking house rockers and heart-wrenching soul-searchers. The Devil’s in the Details is raw, modern blues music ripe for road trips, parties, break-ups, hook-ups, loneliness, love and all things in between.

"The Devil's in the Details is our best sounding CD yet”, says Elliott. “We've finally been able to capture what we think our 'sound' is - a modern take on retro-vintage, with just the right amount of garage thrown in. It's also our most confident outing to date”. This ain’t your grandma’s blues. This is Daddy Long Legs.

Daddy Long Legs, Waterloo Ontario's gritty electrified blues band, are happy to release their fourth CD, “Liars, Cheats and Scoundrels”.
For Daddy Long Legs, playing the blues has nothing to do with nostalgia, or trying to recreate their blues record collections. Rather, it’s about mashing together all the brawn of riff-based garage rock, the soul of 60’s era rhythm and blues, and all the jump and shuffle of the west coast and Chicago sounds to create new blues music that is about the here-and-now. As a result, Daddy Long Legs have become an enigma of the music scene, appealing to an eclectic bunch of blues purist, rock-a-billies, and alt-rockers alike.
With their latest release, Daddy Long Legs have created a raucous set of what can only be described as garage blues. “Liars, Cheats and Scoundrels”, has Daddy Long Legs unleashing wild, snarling tones that are barely contained by the CD itself. The album's all original tracks could equally serve as either the soundtrack to a prison riot, or a night of drinking at the local bar after a break-up with your sweetheart.
