Lena & The Slide Brothers was formed in 2009 in Helsinki, Finland. The first album "Turn It On" came out in 2010, the second "Shine Your Light" in 2013. Their third album "The Road" was released in 2016 and it received great reviews and plenty of airplay world wide. The latest album "IV" (2019) has received superb reviews everywhere and the blues radios all over the world have taken it on their playlists, UK IBBA Top 40 on April and May among others.

The band has played at the most of Finnish blues and roots music festivals as well as in clubs and concert halls all over the country and visited also Sweden, Estonia, France, Italy, Belgium and Switzerland. Lena and her band mates occasionally perform as an acoustic duo or an electric blues trio. In 2016 Lena & The Slide Brothers represented Finland at EBU European Blues Challenge 2016 in Italy. On January 2017 the band won two categories at the Finnish Blues Awards 2017. The artist/band of the year and the best song of the year.

Lena & The Slide Brothers was formed in 2009. The musical co-operation of the lead singer/bass player Lena Lindroos and guitarist Matti Kettunen had over the years resulted in a fair amount of songs that needed to be heard. In order to form an outstanding band, they asked multi-instrumentalist Ville Leppänen and drummer Jupe Litmanen to join them. Each member of the group has made their own contribution to the Finnish roots music scene for more than twenty years, playing in numerous bands.

Their recently released debut album Turn it on contains a wide range of American rootsmusic styles. The blues is there, so is country music, but you can also hear influences of soul, rock, bluegrass, gospel - you name it.

However, they have managed to make their music sound fresh and original. Catchy melodies and riffs, lots of acoustic instruments and most of all: powerful lead vocals and harmonies. And of course, as the name reveals, Lena & The Slide Brothers proudly presents their two amazing slide guitar players.

When performing they will take you on a musical journey from Helsinki to New Orleans, up the river Mississippi to Memphis and further on...wherever it might lead them.
