There is no substitute for experience – and after 30 years on stage, Roger C. Wade & The Houserockers have nothing left to prove, but plenty to give. Their new album Shake It Loose! celebrates a rare anniversary: three decades of groove, sweat, and tireless blues passion.

From the first notes of “On My Mind” to the relaxed finale of “Late Night Swing,” this album offers exactly the energy and joy of playing that only a well-rehearsed band with real stage experience can deliver. Between robust original compositions and carefully selected covers, jump blues, classic R&B, and piano grooves à la New Orleans are mixed together - with Roger's distinctive vocals and harp playing always at the center.

The regular line-up – Roger C. Wade (vocals, harp), Marion Wade (piano), T-Man Michalke (guitar), Stephan “Roffi” Roffmann (double bass) and Micha Maass (drums) – is joined by top-class guests such as saxophone legends Sax Gordon and Tommy Schneller. Jaska Prepula adds extra depth with his electric bass on three tracks. Shake It Loose! was recorded and mixed with great attention to detail – in the spirit of the old school.

The last 30 years or so have seen the English-born Roger C. Wade (harp/vocals) become one of the most respected figures in traditional blues on European stages. His harp style and vocal delivery illustrate his love of the genre and respect of its traditions whilst always performing to the highest standard on any given night. Known for his stage presence and ability to deliver a crowd-pleasing show night after night, Roger's reputation has continued to spread.

Born in Norwich, England in 1968, he soon discovered his love for traditional blues. After paying his dues as a busker on the streets in the south-west, he moved to Germany in the late 80s, where he quickly move from sideman to frontman. He formed his first band "Excuse My Blues" in the early 90s with his wife Marion on piano. The two of them spent several months in 1994 touring through the US, where they played with many renowned musicians before returning to the UK and then ultimately back to Germany to form the band Little Roger & The Houserockers.

First-class 50s Chicago blues, boogie and swinging jump blues – that’s what you can expect from Little Roger & The Houserockers. The explosive stage show, the musical teamwork and their deep love of the blues have made Little Roger & The Houserockers one of the top attractions at many a gig in clubs and at festivals alike. This reputation has made the band one of the most popular acts at festivals in Germany, The Netherlands and further afield.

Roger's harp style is firmly in the tradtion of Little Walter, Big Walter, George Smith and William Clarke, creating a pleasing mix of Chicago and West Coast Blues. Tilmann Michalke offers up lashings of T-Bone Walker, Robert Lockwood and Hollywood Fats, all bundled up and presented in his own inimitable way. Marion is one of the few European pianists that echo the great Otis Spann from Chicago and the legendary Fred Kaplan from Los Angeles in both deep blues and rollicking boogies. The young rhythm section of Stephan Roffmann on bass and Chris Seidel on drums provide the dynamic and exciting beat to complete the package.

In the last twenty years, Roger C. Wade (harp / vocals) has established himself as an outstanding harmonica player in the guild of German Bluestraditionalists. His powerful as well as sensitive style, haunting blues feeling paired with a healthy level of virtuosity inspire the Blu-ray specialist and the party audience alike. Spontaneity, humor and an energetic "stage presence" - this is the way the audience has appreciated Roger C. Wade in Germany and Europe for over 20 years.

Born in 1968 in Norwich, England, Roger not only discovered British blues in the mid-'80s, but mainly his love of classical blues. After his first gigs as a duo on the streets of England, he already moved to Germany, where he played in his first German blues band in the early 90s, first as sideman then as frontman and singer. Shortly thereafter, Roger founded his first band, Excuse My Blues, along with his wife Marion on the piano. The course was set and the direction clear - it was about Blues, Boogie and RnB. In 1994, Roger spent several months in the US, where he worked with many well-known blues artists between New York and San Francisco.

After this exciting and characteristic time, Roger returned to Germany and founded the band Little Roger & The Houserockers with his wife Marion on the piano and Tilmann Michalke on guitar. Over the last 20 years, numerous well-known musicians have been guest performers of the band, ia. Alex Schulz, Chris Rannenberg, Marc T uvm. In 2010, the band completed a two-week tour with RJ Mischo in Europe.

The band has recorded four CDs, the last "Jumping at Jack's Joint" with Thomas Feldmann, Sax Gordon and with special guest Marc T, who has also produced two CDs of the band. In addition to the Houserockers Roger regularly with other bands on the stage, in particular Jan Mohr and the Backscratchers and the duo "Roger Mohr."

Little Roger & The Houserockers are totally dedicated to their love of blues, especially the blues and boogie of the 40s and 50s. The band differentiates itself from other retro bands through its dynamic live show that leaves the audience in clubs or at festivals with tired legs, sore hands and a smile on their face - a rousing show that you should not miss live.

Led by the British harp player and singer Roger Wade and driven by the energetic performance of guitarist T-Man Michalka, whom I regard one of the finest in Europe, the combo's delivering a set of SIX originals, and some fine covers of songs originally by Roy Milton, Willie Nix, Jimmy Reed and others! The band (England/Germany) is based in Germany and was founded in 1994. Their debut CD "Jumpin' The Blues" appeared in 1997 on Magic Angel Records and received high acclaim from both critics and audiences. The second CD by the band, "No Kiddin'!", was released on "Out Of Space", one of the leading blues labels in Germany. "Cut It While It's Hot!", was recorded together with the great Tee (Electric Kings) as producer and special guest, as well as Thomas Feldmann on baritone and tenor sax. Their most recent CD "Jumpin' at Jack's Joint" featured not only Thomas and Tee again, but also the sax lines of Sax Gordon.

The international line-up is fronted by the English bandleader Roger C. Wade (harp/vocals), known for his stage presence and powerful harmonica, ensuring a great atmosphere in both smaller and larger venues. Marion Wade (piano) plays blues und boogie in the style of the greats from Chicago, feeling as much at home in rolling shuffles and pounding boogies as in slow blues à la Otis Spann.Tilmann Michalke (guitar) is firmly rooted in the traditions of the 50s, swinging in both his solos and consummate accompaniment.Freddie Werth (bass) and Chris Seidel provide the band with the unmistakable beat.
