Notes: A younger brother of Buddy Guy, he played in Baton Rouge with Raful Neal and other local artists before moving to Chicago in 1969 to join his brother's band. He subsequently worked for Junior Wells. In the '80s he formed his own band and recorded albums for JSP, Isabel and Red Lightnin'. Phil is a high energy blues guitarist of considerable talent, famed for his 'Take No Prisoner' live shows.
This album features the best of his 1982 to 1986 JSP studio sessions. Tough stuff and undoubtably the cream, so far, of Phil Guy acclaimed recording career.
