Philadelphia’s own dynamic rock trio, Foxtrot + the Get Down, is back with a brand new LP, Roots Too Deep, that fuses the best of rock, blues, soul, and Americana into another electrifying collection of fun and refreshing songs.
Blend electrifying rock ‘n roll with blues and Americana, and you find yourself listening to the opening track, “Postal.” The track’s electric guitars assure you that this is a rock ‘n roll band with many twists. They kick up the tempo and add in some southern charm and blues to round out a song that really forces you to want to get up and dance. “Roll Down The Road” is a solid rock song dedicated to the itch of going on the road and traveling across the country. It’s a great blend of southern-ish rock and Americana that you’ll find yourself humming and singing along to through the last note. The bright, sunny side to “Wake Up Good Morning (I Love You)” celebrates being alive, enjoying the day, and caring and being appreciative for our significant other.
The trio’s strength is its ability to blend variations of genres from American roots music (i.e. the album title) and create a sound that is all their own paired with the unique vocal ability and range. “Ramblin’ Back To You,” a folky, Americana track, highlights their singer/songwriter talents to create songs that have high potential to become essential to American and folk.
