Onus Blues is a band with a passion for blues, born out of the dreams and determination of two musicians - Jacek Szuła and Krzysztof Wyrzykowski. Their musical journey began with jam sessions, which evolved into a creative and authentic musical project. Soon, they were joined by Nikodem Piekut (drums), Roman Szonowski (bass guitar), and Sylwiusz Krakowczyk (guitar), completing the lineup of the Onus Blues band.\n \nThe band is known for its original approach to the blues, blending traditional sounds with modern elements to create something unique and energetic. Joanna Knitter is acclaimed singer who works in many musical styles. As a lecturer at the Academy of Music in Gdansk (a jazz dump, jazz improvised, interpretation of the song, interpretation of the literary text with the diction) is also an excellent teacher for himself. The singer, gaining popularity and recognition, gives concerts at the biggest music festivals in Poland and in the world (from Gevarenwinkel Blues & Roots Festival and Rawa Blues to Rockabilly Day, Baltic Music Festival or jazz festivals in Sopot and Krakow). Her discography includes eight albums, of which "Jo & Lazy Fellow - My Own Place", "Przemek Dyakowski: Take It Easy - Swing", "The Sound of Christmas" (with the Polish Chamber Philharmonic under the direction of Wojciech Rajski), "Love Songs" (with Leszek Kulakowski) and three albums with an author's band from Blues & Folk Connection gained an excellent reception of fans.

Her band Blues & Folk Connection is a project that draws on the “ roots” – the tradition of American music of the beginning of the 20th century, not avoiding exploration among contemporary sounds. The ensemble consists of musicians with different personalities, coming from other musical cultures: the drummer Piotr Góra, jazz double bassist Adam Zuchowski, versatile pianist Artur Jurek and guitarist Krzysztof Paul. Joanna Knitter leads this excellent band, with which she has made three albums so far: Cruel, Cruel World, Hard Times and the latest "Aretha". “This album is my blues tribute to the First Lady of Soul,” says Joanna Knitter. Aretha Franklin was a musical genius. Her technique, color and great plasticity of voice were a phenomenon. The passion and emotions she put into each song – whether it was a musical hit, jazz standard or gospel song. It is not without reason that the Boogie Boys are considered one of Poland's best blues exports. This is probably the native blues group that performs most often across the pond, and they perform equally well in the studio and live. Most importantly, as one of the few, constantly developing and enriching its repertoire.

Observing the concerts of the Boogie Boys, a technically super-efficient music machine, one may come to the conclusion that no more can be gained from the topic of boogie. The third album, titled "Made in Cali", proves that the musicians still have a lot to say. Recorded and produced in California, it sounds incomparably better than most Polish blues releases.

This is hardly surprising - the producer of the album is the renowned American harmonica player John Clifton (The Mofo Party Band), known for his cooperation with artists such as Rod Piazza, James Harman and Johny Dyer. His great-sounding harmonica can probably also be heard in recordings. Also featured is guitarist Ron Thopmson who has performed with John Lee Hooker, Etta James and Mick Fleetwood among others, and he plays wonderful, swinging phrases in many songs, so characteristic of Californian jump-blues.

The album "Made in Cali" was recorded in California and sounds like a real Californian album. Moreover, it will rub the noses of many malcontents who thought that the Boogie Boys band had already said everything in the rigid boogie formula. Well, no, and the diversity of both the arrangement and style of the songs on the latest album is proof of this.

Since its inception dated back to 2003, Boogie Boys have visited almost all countries in Europe and some on other continents. In their achievements they have already four albums and the concerts they play are great success wherever they go. They have toured alongside many stars (as a support or back-up band) such as Joe Bonamassa, Shakin’ Stevens, Ray Manzarek (The Doors), Phil Guy, Studebaker John, James Harman, Rod Piazza, Big Bill Morgenfield, Ana Popovic and many more.

In February 2009, as the only team from outside the United States, Boogie Boys were finalists of the greatest blues competition in the world International Blues Challenge in Memphis, USA. The album “Hey You!” was qualified to the finals of best self-produced album at the International Blues Challenge in 2010. In 2011 they represented Poland at the 1st European Blues Challenge in Berlin and they were qualified to the Top 3.

Rarely or never have we seen ourselves confronted with such conflicting feelings as after the, numerous, listenings to this album. Alternately press the finger on the repeat or the skip button. Reviews clashing between excellent and superfluous again. It is not easy this "Harpcore" from Harmonijkowy Atak. From the name of the album you will already be able to deduce that the harmonica or bluesharp will be given the lead role on this release. And maybe you already realized that the group name sounds Polish. The four Kaminski, Kielak, Leczycki and Wisniewski + a few guest musicians whose name we will save you are indeed no less than excellent practitioners of the harmonica.

The album has some doubts, blues, funk and soul and that is a shame. How about on one and the same album "Walking Blues" and "Bad Girls"? However, it starts out promising musically with Dr John's "Right Place, Wrong Time", the vocals in this song often evoke images of Homer Simpson, a phenomenon that would later repeat itself with different songs. But musically, the essence is repeated, a more than decent cover. The first track is coming with the second track "Bad Girls" you probably know from Donna Summer. The disco atmosphere is retained in the subsequent "Higher & Higher", covered many times and an earwig full of enthusiasm but one that you want to get rid of as quickly as possible. And then suddenly there comes an excellent version of T.J. White's "Steamy Windows", not aunt Tina-wise but sounding like a nice tribute to the author. This is a song for which we pressed the repeat several times. And so the album continues. A totally superfluous version of Stevie Wonder's "Superstition" is then succeeded again by a downright brilliant cover of Robert Johnson's "Walking Blues", wonderfully stomped on driving drum lines.

We really don't know what to do with this album. We cannot demolish or praise them. The highlights are too scarce to postpone this release. On the other hand, harmonica lovers will be able to enjoy the once jazzy, then bluesy or wailing game of the gentlemen. Listen for yourself. ~Luc Meert

The Real Gone Tones hail from Warsaw, Poland and play a mix of rockabilly, rhythm'n'blues, swing and country since 2011. Greg Szlapczynski is a polish harmonica player who used to study with Milteau and who is more than adequate to carry on the torch of French harmonica. He was Milteau's student for many years and now runs the harmonica school that Jean-Jacques launched.

Greg's harmonica style is versatile and very jazzy, technically impressive but doesn't sacrifice it's soul to this technique. Greg's use of overblows is so clean that they are impossible to distinguish from 'normal' notes.

Greg Szlapczynski is an important voice in the emerging voice of the diatonic. He has done his homework and studied the blues masters and has confidently and reverently incorporated many aspects of that technique. He has also obviously listened to Milteau and Levy (and Carlos del Junco?) and Lee Oscar and Weather Report and Van Morrison and Miles Davis as well. I love that he has a broad musical palette that he draws from, and has the technique to pull it off. Any harmonica player would want to hear what he is doing; but harmonica or not, this is just plain good music. ~Paul Messinger

Johnny Coyote's debut album. The album contains 12 premiere tracks. Most of the songs are fast-paced, with a mix of rock.

Bite the blues? Yes, on the album of native band Johnny Coyote from Saw we can taste a solid blues. The whole composition is sprinkled with the unusual voice of Eve Pitury, who is an eden for the ears. The musicians serve the listener with the heavier variety that they call southern bluesrock. The formation derives inspiration from the blues of the southern states of America and draws inspiration from the compositions oscillating around rock 70s. This makes the album extremely original, because in Poland such a variety of blues is not very common.

The title of the album "Blues Bastard", a blues bastard, is the embodiment of the vocalist of the band. Ewa Pitura was just 18 years old and after having had an adventure with classical music, in spite of everything, she discovered that her vocation was to play the blues. This girl is endowed with strong voice and stage talent. With his personality he captures the crowds, often referred to as the "stage animal", which is clearly heard on this album.

The "Bastard Bastard" disc contains twelve of Peter Janroyka's own compositions. The song promoting the song is the intriguing title "WhereIs My Cow?", Which can be heard on the radio "Trójka". Other very interesting songs are "Toy Story", "Bastard" or "Diamond". Most of the songs are kept at extremely fast tempo, which makes the formation an appealing concert proposal. Zespół powstał na początku 2014r., a już w lipcu wygrał konkurs podczas Suwałki Blues Festival. W Jury zasiedli m.in. Bogdan Topolski, Jan Chojnacki, Jostein Forsberg, Andrzej Jerzyk, Andrzej Matysik, Patrice Vermeerch i to oni wybrali Drunk Lamb na reprezentanta Polski w European Blues Challenge 2015.

Zespół tworzą wszechstronni muzycy, którzy czynnie uczestniczą również w projektach jazzowych, funkowych, soulowych i rockowych. Oprócz przyjaźni, łączy ich wspólna miłość do żywiołowego grania prosto zza oceanu. Razem podzielają fascynacje Jimi Hendrixem, Stevie Ray Vaughanem, The Alman Brothers, czy John Mayerem, co słychać w twórczości Drunk Lamb. Wspólne muzykowanie w innych projektach pozwoliło im na odnalezienie brzmienia i stworzenia zespołu o konkretnym kierunku. The Harpiano Show consists of two musicians: Neil Wilde – English pianist, vocalist, song writer, composer and Jakub Konieczko – Polish harmonica player, vocalist and composer. First time they met was during the Hot Jazz Spring Festival in Częstochowa in 2013. The day after Jakub played harmonica as a guest during Neil’s concert at the festival. It was the first time the idea of making a duo had appeared during that festival. An English musician Neil performed together with an outstanding Polish jazz pianist, composer and arranger Wojciech Kamiński. Neil played a concert in 2012 during another Polish jazz festival – Złota Tarka in Iława. After the first concert in Częstochowa in 2013 the feedback was so good that the organiser decided to invite Neil Wilde again for 11th edition of the event in 2015 as a main star. During the concert Jakub played with Neil. They felt so good playing together. From 2013 up to date Jakub Konieczko spent a few days in England at the beginning of December 2015. Where the repertoire and musical Arrangements were agreed upon. Furthermore, the first rehearsal and recordings were made at Neil’s home in Yorkshire and concerts were played. The name of the project The Harpiano Show – Neil Wilde (UK), Jakub Konieczko (PL) appeared for the first time in Poland where the first concerts were played at the beginning of 2016.

The Big Ass Beer To Go was made thanks to one big journey. We believe that this may enable you to communicate spiritually with the remnants of a bygone era in places which we have visited, good and bad relationships, the circle of birth and death, and to the roots of the music we play. Each of us has transmitted 100% of our true emotions into this stuff and so we hope that this makes our music real.

Two Timer was formed at the end of 2008. The band plays electric blues, draws on the roots of the style, and keeps the traditional sound which was typical of the ‘60s and the ‘70s. They describe their music as “Grunge blues on steroids.”

Our concert repertoire is based on our own work and several covers which have served as inspiration for us to further develop our style and create our original songs ever since TT was formed. The band recorded their first original demo EP “Here it comes” in April 2011. The debut LP of the band had its premiere on the June 7th, 2014. The band was on tour in Polish and German clubs at the time. We also performed at numerous festivals such as Rawa Blues, JimiWay Blues Festival and Gdynia Blues Festival. Two Timer represented Poland during the International Blues Challenge in January 2015 in Memphis, USA. The band’s second LP is planned to be released in April 2016.
