A small sleepy place in an American provincial desert. The local bar spits smoke from all porous facade holes - the heat hits you in the face, you save yourself in the bar on the corner and fall into a nightly pull - the figures appear apathetic, times away. “Sir” Oliver Mally sits on stage and plays the blues that nobody suspects, but everyone is looking for. "Sir" Oliver Mally is without question one of the representatives of the "best blues in Europe" (concerto).
His rough, convention-free music corresponds to pure extract of the blues essence. The inhalation of it pops like absinthe for life. His albums have received international reviews of praise. The "best blues singer in the country" (Samir H. Köck, "Die Presse") is on tour all the time anyway - between Hamburg and Budapest, Graz and Waidhofen an der Thaya, but sometimes in between at the Himalayan Blues Festival in Nepal. “Amadeus” nominations and thirteen category trophies in the critics' poll of “Concerto” magazine have no place in luggage, but his instrument is indispensable for that. Born in Lower Bavaria, Hubert Hofherr discovered his love for Chicago blues very early on. In addition to his music studies, he played early in the first bands and released several recordings. After emigrating to the USA, he toured with well-known blues musicians such as B. Buster Benton, J. W. Williams, Merle Perkins through the USA and founded his own band there until he returned to Germany. Hubert Hofherr is on tour in Germany and abroad with his band "Hubert Hofherr & The Bottom Line", founded in 1996, as well as u. a. with "The Ramblers", Albert C. Humphrey and the Roots of Blues, the Ron Evans Group, the Hamburg blues singer and guitarist Abi Wallenstein as well as the Electric Blues Duo (Colin Hodgkinson and Frank Diez) and Mano Maniak.
And finally, the two of them found each other “live” four years ago. A brightly colored program is presented consisting mainly of original compositions peppered with exquisite covers to which the musicians will no doubt put their own stamp. Goosebumps on many a song with a blue note are guaranteed.
