Hailing from St. Hugues de Chartreuse, Rhône-Alpes, the duo beats out most American players at their own game, and the slightly French tinged, Tom Waits meets Muddy Waters vocals set a new standard and twist on a somewhat modernly downtrodden genre.
In 2009, the release of Spring Time Coming made a stir in the international world of Blues. With this first album the duet is nominated at the Awards of the "Blues foundation of Memphis"; then they receive the special price of the famous Cognac Blues Passion Festival and they carry their show everywhere in the world.
Starting from the Chartreuse Mountains, near Grenoble, Mr Mat and Mr Iano make crowds of people dance in USA, Turkey, in Quebec, in Croatia, in Sweden, in Burkina Faso etc...
In France, the success is really spectacular: to sell more than 15 000 albums nowadays is a real exploit, but to do that without any help from the medias is a real feat!!!!A feat realized thanks to the "Vox Populi" and built all along more than 300 concerts produced by the duo. We must say that during a concert the exchange between the Mountain Men and his public is really extraordinary
Carried on by Mister Mat's heady voice and by the flights of iano's harmonica, the groove and the emotion go together during all concert. And the original and undeniable charisma of these two characters leads us between laughs and thrills, enthusiasm and festive communicative energy. Here again the public is not wrong, reserving long and long standing ovations during such famous festivals as Jazz à Vienne ,Nancy Jazz Pulsation ,or in the mythic concert halls as l'Olympia, the New Morning or the Transbordeur.
