Svein Grostad Band is a powertrio from Trondheim, Norway built around the music and lyrics of guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Svein Grostad. He first appeared as a guitarist and contributing composer in the Norwegian hardrock band Hardline who issued their first and selftitulated album in 1984. In the 90s he formed the band Valhalla who's first lineup toured England including the legendary Marquee Club in London. Valhalla issued their debut album "Rush" in 1995, an album often compared to the music of King's X, Soundgarden and early Black Sabbath. Metal Hammer described it as "unusual, challenging and surprisingly good". Later in the 90s he also joined the countryrockers Scarecrows where he in addition to guitars also contributed with fiddle, mandolin and banjo on the albums "Crowman" and "Rattlesnake Law". In the 00s Hardline reunited for a periode and issued their second album "Monumental" in 2011. He has also since 2010 gained reputation for his Hendrix-style guitarskills in the tribute-band Haze of Hendrix. Now he is here with his own powertrio playing his own music with bandmates Sverre Dæhli, bass and Ketil Klæboe, drums.
