Caledonia Blues Band was a blues group founded in Seville, Spain, in 1986. During their 11 years of existence they recorded 5 albums and was the first Spanish band to travel to America to play at Buddy Guy's Legends in Chicago, the most famous club in the city, where they played two days. The first day supporting Cash McCall, and the second day as headliners. The band also the band toured extensively all over Spain and attended the most renowned blues and jazz festivals.
In November of 1986, bassist Juan Arias, guitarist Lolo Ortega and drummer Juan Ramón "Rama" Borreguero formed the nucleus of what would be the Caledonia Blues Band. Domingo "Mingo" Balaguer, a harmonica player, joined them shortly thereafter. In the following months, the group suffered its first change when Juan Arias left the band and was replaced by Paco Martínez. As a quartet, they recorded a demo and participated at the Hospitalet Blues Festival.
In 1988, during the jam session after a concert at the Pilatos bar in Seville, an American student climbed on stage to sing but he soon returned to the USA. But he sent his brother, George Michael Lindner, who became the lead singer of the band since September of that year. However, in March of 1996 Michael Lindner decided to return to the United States and that meant the end of the band's history.
