Robin Banks is a blues singer/songwriter whose bittersweet voice and sassy, sultry performances have captivated audiences since the early 90s. Having been raised a mere 50 miles from Detroit, she instantly fell in love with soul and Motown music. She studied jazz in college, and in 1992 she formed The Robin Banks Blues Band and has since performed at clubs and festivals throughout much of the U.S. and Canada. In 1996 she released her debut CD "Permanent Record" which received international airplay and accolades. That release led to her winning the award for New Artist of the Year at the 1997 Mapleblues Awards. The following year she was nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year.
Robin relocated to Dallas, Texas in 1999 and reformed her band with some of the area's finest musicians. In 2001, she recorded her second CD "Honestly" which features Dallas blues artists including the great Sam Myers, Hash Brown, Pat Boyack, Randy McAllister, Holland K. Smith and others. /Amazon
