The Smokin' Benny Brown Band are a blues trio whose energy and enthusiasm will blow you away. The band focuses on capturing the audiences attention and drawing them in to the performance. The guys are currently setting about taking the UK blues scene by storm, performing in some iconic venues and alongside some giants of the genre.

Larger than life front man and principle songwriter Benny Brown when he has a guitar in his hand has an abundant ability to engage the listener. An undeniable talent, he plays his own interpretation of the blues which he calls 'Blackened Blues'; a powerful blend of heavier guitar work and soulful melody working to lift the blues from the dirge that can be sometimes be attached to it. His vocal style draws on all his musical influences from the old blues masters through to the soul icons that inspired him to sing.

Completing the power trio and providing the backdrop to Benny's vocal and guitar melody is a rhythm section born for the genre. In the engine room providing intricate yet solid percussion is Jonathan Hilton-King (aka Shakey Jake) and embellishing the rhythm with old school bass grooves is Steve Old or 'The Doc' to those who are 'in the know'.

If you like your Blues with a rock edge and a hint of soul then The Smokin' Benny Brown Band is for you.
