GuitarBò, all’anagrafe Alberto Toffoli, nasce in provincia di Venezia. Già dalla giovane età resta impressionato dalle melodie, suoni e sensazioni che si fanno chiamare Blues. Inizia così ad ascoltare questo particolare genere e a suonarlo. Quello che lo affascina e colpisce, giorno dopo giorno, sono quei suoni e quegli odori che non aveva mai visto o sentito che entrano diretti e veloci nella sua vita. Alberto comincia così il proprio tragitto come autodidatta alla scoperta dell’irruento blues del texano Stevie Ray Vaughan e di B.B. King. In questo percorso formativo, fondamentale si rivela l’aiuto dell’eclettico chitarrista veneziano Roberto Ortolan, session-man di noti cantautori italiani. Lo stile pian piano si affina grazie anche ai due anni passati presso la scuola di musica moderna e contemporanea “Lizard” di Firenze.
GuitarBò cresce con le influenze del Chicago Blues e di artisti del calibro di B.B. King, Muddy Waters, il Funky di Tower of Power e Stevie Wonder, il Soul di Ray Charles, Etta James, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett ed il Rock di Hendrix, strizzando l’occhio ai chitarristi Jazz quali Kenny Burrell, Wes Montgomery e Grant Green. Ha la possibilità di suonare nel 2000 ad Austin (Texas), dove riesce ad entrare in contatto con i grandi del blues, quali Jimmy Vaughan e Alan Hayens e a suonare nei club della cosiddetta “capitale della musica”. Al ritorno del suo viaggio incide il suo primo disco “Live in Darshan” (2001), interamente autoprodotto. Vince il concorso “Emergenza Acoustic” per la regione Veneto partecipando alle finale nazionale e nello stesso anno (QUALE?) incide il secondo disco Movin’ Up contenente XX canzoni inedite. Ha collaborato con il cantautore nativo americano Yowan Nagwetch, ha collaborato e collabora tuttora con i noti musicisti blues quali Enrico Crivellaro (Master of Blues Guitars) e Marco Pandolfi (Magic Harp).
Nel 2013 si è spostato per un periodo a Chicago per respirare un po’ di sano blues, e trovare l’ispirazione per un nuovo disco. Nel 2015 esce il nuovo album “Heavy Love” con 9 tracce originali e tre cover: un disco blues contaminato dalla musica soul, funk jazz e rock.

GuitarBò, born Alberto Toffoli, was born in the province of Venice. Even from a young age he was impressed by the melodies, sounds and sensations that call themselves Blues.
