Keystone Cops was formed in 1991 when guitar player and singer-songwriter Ville "Lefty" Leppänen begun heavy touring with a double bass player, the music then being acoustic American roots. The first studio album was released in 1992, drums were added in the middle-nineties and Keystone Cops turned electric. Traditional country blues became blues-rock and americana. In the beginning of the 2000's, the band's line-up stabilized with Lefty on guitar & lead vocals, Juha Tanninen on drums & backing vocals, and Pasi Ryökkynen on bass & backing vocals. Besides Finland, Keystone Cops have been touring in Scandinavia and Canada.
