It may not offer anything new, but Temptation is a solid album from Duke Robillard. Supported by drummer Jeffery McAllister and bassist Marty Ballou, he runs through a set of nine originals and two covers, playing with typical taste and class. Robillard's blues doesn't really burn with intensity; rather, it simmers with style. That means this Temptation is slyly seductive, and while there are a few missteps along the way, it's still a successful seduction. /Thom Owens, AllMusic

Nice post, RR! In retrospect and after having listened to almost every Duke's album, I think this one is good but not among his best. Maybe the songwriting could be a little stronger. But still, Duke and his band are top musicians and their performance makes this album worth listening to.
