Blue Gil Fuller fronts the meanest little lineup of Chicago blues musicians on this stompin' and wailin' CD, featuring longtime cohort Barrelhouse Chuck on piano and organ, with Willie "Big Eyes" Smith, John Carpender and Kenny Smith on drums, Billy Flynn and Joe Campagna on guitar, Michael Peters on bass, Sam Burkhardt on sax, and Pierre Lococque on harmonica. At the heart of it all are Blue Gil's burly and surly vocals, lamenting everything that is the blues - hard times, hard luck, hard livin', and hard women.
