“ Acoustic Blues Drifters ” play American folk music from blues to bluegrass from old and new times and know how to break new ground with original compositions and give these original musical styles their own touch. As a duo, they present an authentic, intimate sound at the concerts, which is celebrated with acoustic instruments (guitars, harmonicas, voices). After the first two CDs from 2014 ( Drink That...) and 2017 ( Stripped To the Bone), the two recorded a double album called “ Blue & Green ” in the mountains in 2022. The double album is a tasteful mix of blues, folk and bluegrass songs as well as his own compositions. The trademarks of Acoustic Blues Drifter, the two voices, the virtuoso interplay of the instruments and the harmonious dual vocals, are the essence of the old as well as the new album - a compact, airy sound with blues harp, guitar, vocals and percussion. Walter Baumgartner sings and plays the harmonica. He has continually made a name for himself in the Swiss blues scene. In addition to the acoustic duo, he tours with his band Walt's Blues Box and other various formations, including Hannes Kasehs (Git/Voc, AT), Michael Dolmetsch (piano). In 2016 he won the “ Swiss Blues Award ”. Joe Schwach plays and sings on guitar and vocals . Joe has been seen and heard on Swiss stages for many years. Among other things, he played with John Brack for years, toured with Toni Vescoli , recorded in the studio with Albert Lee and has been on the road with the country band Rusty Nuggets and other formations for years.
