Truckin' with Albert Collins is a 1969 Blue Thumb reissue of The Cool Sound of Albert Collins, which was originally released on TCF Hall Records in 1965. These are the earliest recordings that Collins made, and already his trademark sound is in place - his leads are stinging, piercing and direct. The album features a set of blistering instrumentals (with the exception of the vocal "Dyin' Flu") that would eventually become his signature tunes, including "Frosty" and "Frostbite." Collins doesn't just stick to blues, he adds elements of surf, rock, jazz, and R&B. These songs may not have been hits at the time, but they helped establish his reputation as the Master of the Telecaster. /Thom Owens, AllMusic

Truckin' With Albert Collins
MCA Records MCABD 10423
Released 1969
Personnel: Albert Collins (vocals, guitar); Henry Hayes (alto saxophone); Big Tiny (tenor saxophone); Frank Mitchell (trumpet); Walter McNeil (organ); Bill Johnson (bass); Herbert Henderson (drums).
Principally recorded in Houston, Texas from 1962 to 1963. Originally released in 1965 as "THE COOL SOUND OF ALBERT COLLINS" (TCF-8002). TRUCKIN' WITH ALBERT COLLINS is a replica of the 1969 Blue Thumb reissue (BT-8).
(Reputedly, both Johnny Winter and Janis Joplin--teenagers at the time--were present in the studio when Collins cut "Frosty." Joplin predicted the song would be a hit. She was right--it sold millions, and became one of Collins's signature songs). For essential early offerings from this blues master, TRUCKIN' WITH ALBERT COLLINS is at the top of the list.
Thanks. Always interested in hearing more Albert Collins.
