Debuting with ‘Last Train’ in 2011, followed by ‘Bandit Blues Motel’ in 2014 and ‘Howl’ in 2018 on Appaloosa Records, the singer/guitarist’s sound is filtered through the blues, drawing from the British blues boom of the ’60s, ’50s R&B and Rock ‘n’ Roll, and artists such as RL Burnside, John Lee Hooker and Jessie Mae Hemphill. However, when Alex sings his vocals betray his soul influences – echoes in the style of Otis Redding and Etta James can be heard.
With regular performances solo, duo and with a his full-band – The Fever – appearing in the UK and Europe – having played across Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, and in Amsterdam and Moscow. Until recently, Alex also held a longstanding solo residency (over seven years) at the Blues Kitchen – Shoreditch in London.
Both solo and with his band he has supported artists including US R&B legend Geno Washington, UK bluesman Big Boy Bloater, and one of the all time greats, Bobby Rush. He has appeared at festivals such as The Salaise Blues Festival (France), Red Rooster (UK), Blues River (Italy), and the Vintage Weekender (France).
