Al Garner hails from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, a small town about thirty miles south of Nashville. He quickly became a much in demand drummer, playing behind many of the great regional R&B artists of the day, including Gene Allison and Roscoe Shelton. He was also in demand as a Blues Shouter and MC in the Jefferson street nightclubs. Al had (and still does have) a very gregarious manner and engaging stage presence. Get Out Blues, Al Garner's debut solo recording, shows an artist hitting his stride, featuring his own compositions as well as great songs by Russell Smith, Big Al Lauro, Billy C Farlow, Mary-Ann Brandon and Jimmy Reed.🤙💙🎼😎
