ALF AND BLUE DEVIL´S (Mar del Plata, Province of Buenos Aires)
This is a band from Mar del Plata that had its origins in January 2020, although it was the result of the natural musical evolution that originated in 2016 from a folk-blues project that Alf had at that time that had another name. The band had different formations. After the inclusion of Diego Cerimelli on harmonica, the band turned to the style of Chicago Blues. Currently the band recognizes influences in Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, Eddie Taylor, The Aces, Magic Sam, Freddy King and Luther Johnson.
In its beginnings it was made up of Alf Farniente (guitar and vocals), Belen Navarro (drums), Diego Cerimelli (harmonica), Francisco J. J. Goni (bass) and Ricardo Meschini (keyboards). It is currently composed of Alf Farniente (guitar and vocals), Belen Navarro (drums), Reinaldo "Raqa" Palazzo (bass), Juanjo Carbone (guitar) and Davo Bibiloni (keyboard).-
The band released two albums. The first one is called "Hay que seguir movendo" (We must continue moving) and was recorded during 2022 and presented on November 3, 2022 at Espacio Chauvin, Mar del Plata. The album is made up of 7 songs, four of them original and three covers, including Hide Away, The Creeper returns and Chicken in my pocket. The repertoire is made up of instrumental songs and others sung in Spanish and English.
In December 2023 they released their second album "Chuleteando" also composed of 7 of their own songs, with lyrics in Spanish, among which stand out "El blues del alquiler", a slow blues that describes the painful reality of the tenant immersed in a crisis situation, "Alelu rayo de blues", "Mamita Linda" a slow blues in which guitar licks with wah wah and keyboard solos stand out, "Martes de feria", "Ciudad de Mar del Plata", "Ya esta, ya fue" and an instrumental song that gives the album its name "Chuleteando".
