On August 29, 1984 a pair of veteran blues pianists-vocalists were recorded in New Orleans at separate sessions. Henry Gray is best remembered as Howlin' Wolf's pianist during 1956-1968 and he also worked with other top Chicago blues musicians before deciding to return to the Baton Rouge area in the late '60s. His solo performances are quite effective, featuring repetitive but creative blues piano and his own straightforward and expressive singing. Cousin Joe was on the borderline of jazz throughout much of his career and he was a fixture in New Orleans from 1948 on. His lyrics on "I Wouldn't Give a Blind Sow an Acorn" were often used by Dizzy Gillespie. Cousin Joe was a better pianist than Gray but not as strong a singer. He is in solid form during his performance which was cut five years before his death. These two otherwise unrelated sessions are musically complementary and together they make for an enjoyable set of traditional-style blues. ~Scott Yanow

Dickey Betts maybe not have had the name but he was a co-founder and songwriter and the ongoing heart and soul of the Allman Brothers Band. This show was recorded in January 11, 1988 with what is now an all-star back-up band, at the Lone Star Roadhouse in New York City and simulcast on WLIR on Long Island. Band includes Warren Haynes and Matt Abts who would later form Gov't Mule. And Johnny Neel on keys who along with Haynes would join a reunited the Allman Brothers Band the next year.

Along with Magic Slim, Eddy Clearwater is a preeminent torchbearer of Chicago bar-band blues. He's not quite a virtuoso guitarist, but on this reissue from 1986, he has the guts and chops to go head-to-head with Otis Rush for five songs. Clearwater even quotes Rush's famed "All Your Love" lick back at Rush on "Sail the Ship." On all eight cuts, Clearwater's crisp, shouted vocal delivery adds an electric charge to the works, pumping uptempo entries like his "All About the Blues" (Clearwater's own statement of purpose) and lending a defiant edge to Charles Brown's anthem of the downtrodden, "Black Night." The guitar interplay's stunning on the latter, too. The title track lays down a hearty R&B groove, and Clearwater pays homage to one of his mentors, Chuck Berry, in the flat-four rocker "Do This Town Tonight." Song to song, the unflagging dependability of Clearwater's all-around journeyman musicianship makes Flimdoozie thoroughly entertaining. --Ted Drozdowski

60 tracks across 2CDs from arguably the greatest bar band of them all - Dr Feelgood & The Interns or just plain Piano Red as he was originally known. Presented here are all of the singles, both sides, he released just as you would have found them on any jukebox from 1950 to 1962. Piano Red was a true original and of course another performer with a claim over "the first rock and roll record" with his debut double sided smash "Rockin' With Red" / "Red's Boogie", many years before Bill Haley hit the scene. This excellent set also features his 1962 hit "Doctor Feel-Good" which became a staple cover for scores of British beat groups. Resident in Atlanta for most of his life, these rocking tracks made him one of the city's major tourists attractions for decades.

Ramblin 'Soul, the new album from Rio Grande, follows the line of its two predecessors: mixing the various influences with sub genres of blues in an entirely authorial production. This new work was recorded and mixed between August 2016 and July 2017, at the Groovie Music Studio in Piracicaba (SP). The production was by vocalist and guitarist Claudio Formiga, the mix was made by Rio Grande and the mastering was performed by Daniel Lanchinho.
As in previous albums, the special guests are prominent musicians in the Brazilian blues scene: Flávio Naves (keyboard), Paulo Coruja (voice and harmonica) and Marceleza Bottleneck (guitar). In the 13 songs of Ramblin 'Soul, Rio Grande took advantage of the various instruments used in their concerts: besides the classic guitar, harmonica, bass and batter, appear Parlor guitars, double, acoustic double bass, washboard and even an anvil.
The songs on the new album go through the elements of classic blues, electric, funk, rock and southern rock.

Amy Kucharik is a ukulele-slinging singer-songwriter based in Somerville, MA. The 2015 Kerrville Grassy Hill New Folk winner explores the full range of her instrument's capabilities as a tool to convey a complex array of subjects and moods: Whether humorous, topical or intense, she steers listeners away from the ukulele's perception as a twee novelty. At the same time, Amy wants her audience to have a good time, and her performances are infused with Vaudevillian charm and an infectious, danceable swing. Her music draws from a range of influences including blues, ragtime jazz, folk, pop and country... as well as aesthetics garnered from film and literature. Amy's catchy, sexy, sometimes haunting songs recount tales of reluctant love, heartbreak, revenge, and grit.

Originally from Southern IL, Amy grew up playing classical piano and studied french horn from the 6th grade through college. At Southern Illinois University, Amy studied art and creative writing, ultimately earning her MFA in poetry, meanwhile playing horn in the University Wind Ensemble. However, it was after moving to Boston and through a swing dancing friend that Amy first became interested in the ukulele, the instrument that ignited her songwriting. In 2012, she put together her band, Friends With Benefits.

Amy's band features a revolving assortment of talented musicians who perform regularly in New England. Their 2013 EP, "Dance Crush Blues," was created as a tribute to their mutual love of the swing and blues dance community. The band was selected to perform at Montreal Bagel & Blues 2014 dance exchange and Boston's Sweet Molasses Blues exchange in 2013 and 2015.

Amy's full-length debut album, "Cunning Folk," was released in 2014. It contains 10 of Amy's originals arranged for a diversely instrumented band featuring luscious vocal harmonies and swirling New Orleans brass. "Cunning Folk" was nominated for Red Line Roots Album of the Year in 2014.

In 2015, Amy was a winner of the Grassy Hill Kerrville Newfolk competition, an honor given to six songwriters selected from a pool of 800 applicants. She toured central Texas with the other five winners, and has been collaborating with several of the Newfolk finalists on future musical endeavors. Amy has also shared bills with Denver, CO-based YouTube ukulele sensation Danielle Ate the Sandwich, as well as Samantha Farrell and Boston Music Award Folk Artist of the Year 2014 Dan Blakeslee. Her song, "Creepy Dead Bug," co-written with Klyma, was covered by Trout Fishing in America (who NPR call "the Lennon and McCartney of kid's music") on their 2013 release, "Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers." Amy also performs as a vocalist with the Dan Fox Foxtet swing band, and her own vintage blues band, Tiger Moan.

What’s the all conquering, defining and biggest-selling sound of blues today? Why it would have to be Joe Bonamassa and his guitar-led blend of “Blues-rock” – derived from UK sixties and seventies classic blues-rock guitar Gods. However, guitar didn’t always reign supreme in the blues scene.

‘Once upon a time, in a corner of musical history of the distant past, the blues ‘harp’ was King. A cat from Chicago by the name of Little Walter started playing the tiny combination of tin and wood through a microphone and a guitar amplifier and created, for a few years at least, THE all popular defining sound of Chicago blues. Distorted, rhythmical, dynamic and cool.

But this was in the 50s… what’s been shaking with the humble “Gob Iron” since? Not much, is the answer, mainly because when blues hit the British and American white kids and they rapidly turned it into rock in the 60s and early 70s, no one had any idea how to play the thing to any great standard.

Walter had taken his secrets to the grave with him; with his untimely death at the age of 38 in 1967. With no new shining star, the harp was sidelined to a tiny, much diminished status.

The UK’s Will Wilde, with his new album “Bring It On Home”, a “passionate tribute to British and Irish Blues legends”, attempts to right this wrong. Wilde, his press release states, “touches the harp like Midas, transforming it from it’s bluesy niche into a full on rock power house”.

Whether or not this works is really going to be down to the blues-rock fans, and whether they buy into it in a big way or not. This is pure and simply an album of classic rock covers with harp leading the way instead of guitar.

Wilde’s version of Gary Moore’s “Parisian Walkways” being the litmus test. Blues-rock fans are either going to love it or be indifferent to it. Judging by the reaction on Youtube to the song’s video, happily, they seem to be loving it. ~by Giles Robson

Recorded during a three hour session on August 24, 1960, Gary Davis laid down 12 of his most impassioned spirituals for Harlem Street Singer. Starting off the session with a version of Blind Willie Johnson's "If I Had My Way I'd Tear That Building Down," here renamed "Samson and Delilah," Davis is in fine form. His vocals are as expressive as Ray Charles' while similar in richness to Richie Havens' work. Harlem Street Singer features his inspired country blues fingerpicking as well. Many moods color the selections, from the gentle "I Belong to the Band" to the mournful "Death Don't Have No Mercy," only to be followed by the joyous shouting of "Goin' to Sit Down on the Banks of the River." Overall, the collection is well worth the purchase and should be considered essential listening for fans of country blues or gospel. ~Matt Fink

Roomful of Blues' self-titled 1977 disc on Island Records, produced by Joel Dorn and the great Doc Pomus, reveals a powerful and entertaining approach to material from Noble "Thin Man" Watts, Chick Willis, Aaron Walker, Lou Willie Turner, and others. Duke Robillard's authentic vocal and guitar lead with authority, the group performing these solid blues with the precision of jazz greats. There's an interesting resemblance here to the Atlantic debut of the J. Geils Band, not in sound, but in look and attitude. Decades later Robillard would join John Geils; merging their journeymen talents, this ten-track collection by the septet is chock-full of this Duke's magic and indicates great things to come. Though Greg Piccolo is the tenor sax player in the ensemble, Scott Hamilton is featured on Aaron Walker's "Still in Love with You," a performance by the group that allows their respective talents to shine, the production flawlessly gives breathing room to each instrument. The rave version of "Honey Hush" condenses the music, focusing the elegance of the previous track into a rocking stomp with the band building into a mini blues Wall of Sound. Where members of another New England band of the day, Duke & the Drivers, were more fans than musicians, creating a party atmosphere from the sheer love of it, this serious bunch re-creates the aura found on some of the better known renditions of these compositions much like Stompy Jones, a group of veterans in the new millennium capturing the spirit of the time when this music was in its heyday. "Duke's Blues" is an inspired original with the guitar and saxes wailing in a symphony of earthy tones. The disc is an impressive contribution, but perhaps a bit out of place on a label that featured Bob Marley, Robert Palmer, Ultravox, John Cale, and Steve Winwood around the time of this album's release. ~Joe Viglione

Ray Sharpe's biggest and only hit, "Linda Lu," only made it to number46 on the Billboard charts and his music doesn't fit into any convenient categories. He is that anomaly of anomalies, an African-American who made records that sounded like a hillbilly doing rock & roll and pop tunes. Sharpe could pick some pretty bluesy guitar and had a way of vocalizing and stuttering and stretching out syllables with a twang that would have given even Jim Nabors a moment of pause. But producer Lee Hazlewood sure knew how to get the best out of him and rather than a compilation with one hit and a bunch of leftovers, we have a collection of diverse but cool material that deserves a much wider hearing. The sound on this disc is really clean and powerful, some of it in early true stereo, but it's the music that'll win hands down every time and that's the bottom line here. Maybe Ray Sharpe isn't in the Hall of Fame, but if you like Texas music with a distinct twist to it, this collection comes highly recommended. ~by Cub Koda

Brigitte was born and raised in Los Angeles. From an early age, her family cultivated her artistry by immersing her in the rich sounds of blues and gospel. Her father was a blues guitarist and would often showcase her talents at family gatherings. At the tender age of 5, she was hand-picked by the choir director to perform her first solo. At the age of 13, her mother heard an announcement on the radio for auditions at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Brigitte competed against hundreds of young hopefuls for a chance to enter the Dorothy Chandler Conservatory. She was selected and subsequently trained by the best in the business.

Brigitte began performing at the Ahmanson Theater and the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. She has been blessed to share the stage with talents such as Dionne Warwick, Marilyn McCoo, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton and Tierra, among many others. She also enjoyed working with Hal Davis of Motown Records. Among her many vocal gigs, Brigitte was a background vocalist for Paul Rodgers on the Jimi Hendrix/Muddy Waters Tour. She was given the incredible opportunity to tour the globe with The U.S.A. Girls, entertaining the troops overseas for the U.S. Department of Defense.

Brigitte is forever grateful for the opportunities she has been given. She loves people and loves to give of her time and talents. Believing strongly in the power of mentoring, she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in the Humanities and enjoys giving back to her community.

The music of Memphis can’t be pigeon-holed. Blues, R&B, Soul, Rock and Roll, Rockabilly, Jazz, and more all have deep roots in the Bluff City, and the combination is what creates the Memphis sound. Tas Cru understands that concept better than most, and pays homage to the true “music city” in his new Subcat Records release, Memphis Song.

Cru flew headlong into the radar in 2014, with You Keep the Money. It wasn’t his first album, but it sure got the attention of blues loving audiences world-wide. Then came 2016’s Simmered & Stewed, which saw Tas nominated for Best Emerging Artist Album at the recent Blues Music Awards. Now comes Memphis Song, described as completing a trifecta of Tas Cru’s creativity.

Long known as a blues poet, and once called the “master of the triple entedre,” Cru pays tribute to his muse, Memphis, Tennessee. He’s been infatuated with, and influenced by the music that came out of Sun Records since childhood. That influence, along with those of blues rock and country blues, are evident in his brilliant songwriting. Memphis Song brings us a dozen original songs that touch on nearly every genre.

“Heal My Soul” brings the record to life with a raucous, Gospel-tinged song of inspiration. Cru’s backing band is tighter than a preacher’s wife’s girdle at an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast. Combining Cru’s guitar with Dick Earl Ericksen’s down home harmonica is a thing of pure beauty.

Guest artists come out to play on the title track. Four time Pinetop Perkins Award winning piano player, Victor Wainwright, along with Pat Harrington (slide guitar) add to the haunting number. Mary Ann Casale also provides acoustic guitar. The song has Cru calling out to his muse, and Memphis answering. This one provided one or two of those shiver moments.

There are several upbeat, fun-loving tunes on Memphis Song. Some of these include “Fool for the Blues,” “Have a Drink,” the slightly irreverent “That Look,” “Feel So Good,” and the album’s closer “Can’t Get Over Blues.” A true raconteur, Cru spins some great yarns on “One Eyed Jack,” “Don’t Lie to the Woman,” and the funkified “Give a Little Up.”

Casale has some featured vocals on “Give a Little Up,” that makes for a sweet, sweet combination. She is also a backing vocalist on the record along with Donna Marie Floyd-Tritico and Patti Parks. Bob Purdy provides a constant, steady bass line while Andy Rudy tickles the ivories. The must-have Memphis organ is provided by Guy Nirelli, except on “Queen of Hearts,” on which Bill Barry takes over. Drums come at us from Ron Keck, Sonny Rock, and Andy Hearn, depending on the song.

Enjoy The Ride is Deb Ryder’s fourth album and it appears to me to be her best yet. Her powerful and strident vocals deliver a huge performance that makes the listener take notice. All the tracks here are originals that she wrote and they all are top notch.

Ryder has several musical guests in addition to her fine band. Coco Montoya, Kirk Fletcher and Chris Cain appear on guitar and Cain also offers up a fine vocal duet. “Big Pete” Peter Van/der Pluim is on harp for most of the tracks, too. Tony Braunagel is on drums and he produced the CD. Johnny Lee Schell is her guitar player and plays bass on two tracks. Mike Finnegan is on keys and also does a vocal duet with Deb. James Hutch Hutchinson, Kenny Gradney and Bob Glaub are also on bass. Mark Pender lends his trumpet to track 3 and Joe Sublett plays tenor sax on that cut and 3 others. A host of backing vocalists fill out the record nicely.

From the opening note of this CD, one senses that this is going to be a fun ride. Ryder begins with “A Storm’s Coming,” a bouncing and driving tune with a stinging guitar lead by Coco Montoya. Ryder’s strident vocals and the guitar work makes this opening song impressive. Next up is “Temporary Insanity” featuring Kirk Fletcher who makes his presence known early, offering up some very tasty guitar licks for us. Ryder gives a forthright performance and the piano work adds a nice dimension. Fletcher’s tone is hazy and a little dirty, making for a cool contrast of sounds. “Bring The Walls Down” has Chris Cain on guitar and Big Llou Johnson on a voice over. Cain’s guitar style stands out, too, with that big hollow sound that always reminds me a lot of B.B. King. Van G. Garrett offers up some poetic spoken word, too. Ryder’s vocals are again big and grab the listener’s attention as do the horn section. “Nothin’ To Lose” has some good harp work featured out front and we get to hear Deb’s guitar player featured for the first time and he does a great job. Ryder growls out the vocals while harp and guitar are right there with her, making for another cool cut.

Slow blues are next in “For The Last Time.” Ryder offers up very passionate vocals and the organ and guitar backing her helps set the mood. Mike Finnigan’s vocal duet with Deb is also quite well done- he gives us some deep and soulful emotion to his work with Deb.”What You want from Me” has a little of that Bo Diddley beat going for it and a church-like approach to the lead and backing vocals. This Gospel tune is cool and features some well done organ and guitar. The title track follows, a cut with a big and driving beat and the harp answering Debs vocal calls in the verses. Chris Cain returns in “Got To Let It Go” with his signature guitar sound and then he comes in for a duet with Deb. The two get it on vocally for a really fun cut.

“Life In Fast Forward” is a rocking, mid tempo song with the guitar and harp out in front. Ryder’s vocals continue to shine and backing vocalists play a big role. Debbie Davies is on board on the guitar for the next two tracks. “Sweet Sweet Love”” has a great lead and a great solo. on guitar The sax plays the biggest role here of the four cuts with tenor; well done. The organ also adds nicely to the mix. “Goodbye Baby” is a gutsy and bouncy tune with Ryder once again showing her chops. The guitar by Davies gets a little funk going and the support on organ and by others is up to the task. “Forever Yours” is a breezy and more ethereal rock cut with laid back vocals and a pretty and mellow guitar solo. The finale is “Red Line,” with some dirty harp and forceful vocals by Deb. Distorted and fuzzed up guitar add to the sound and feel. Big Pete’s harp play a major role, too- a nice finish to a nice album!

Deb has found her place in the blues world. She consistently delivers high quality vocals with power when she needs it and restraint when it is called for. She has become one of the top female vocalists out there. When you add a fine band and guests who blend their talents with Ryders, you wind up with a fine album that will likely garner accolades in next year’s blues awards.

Without Alexis Korner, there still might have been a British blues scene in the early 1960s, but chances are that it would have been very different from the one that spawned the Rolling Stones, nurtured the early talents of Eric Clapton, and made it possible for figures such as John Mayall to reach an audience. Born of mixed Turkish/Greek/Austrian descent, Korner spent the first decade of his life in France, Switzerland, and North Africa, and arrived in London in May of 1940, just in time for the German blitz, during which Korner discovered American blues. One of the most vivid memories of his teen years was listening to a record of bluesman Jimmy Yancey during a German air raid. "From then on," he recalled in an interview, "all I wanted to do was play the blues."

After the war, Korner started playing piano and then guitar, and in 1947 he tried playing electric blues, but didn't like the sound of the pick-ups that were then in use, and returned to acoustic playing. In 1949, he joined Chris Barber's Jazz Band and in 1952 he became part of the much larger Ken Colyer Jazz Group, which had merged with Barber's band. Among those whom Korner crossed paths with during this era was Cyril Davies, a guitarist and harmonica player. The two found their interests in American blues completely complementary, and in 1954 they began making the rounds of the jazz clubs as an electric blues duo. They started the London Blues and Barrelhouse Club, where, in addition to their own performances, Korner and Davies brought visiting American bluesmen to listen and play. Very soon they were attracting blues enthusiasts from all over England.

Korner and Davies made their first record in 1957, and in early 1962, they formed Blues Incorporated, a "supergroup" (for its time) consisting of the best players on the early-'60s British blues scene. Korner (guitar, vocals), Davies (harmonica, vocals), Ken Scott (piano), and Dick Heckstall-Smith (saxophone) formed the core, with a revolving membership featuring Charlie Watts or Graham Burbridge on drums, Spike Heatley or Jack Bruce on bass, and a rotating coterie of guest vocalists including Long John Baldry, Ronnie Jones, and Art Wood (older brother of Ron Wood). Most London jazz clubs were closed to them, so in March of 1962 they opened their own club, which quickly began attracting large crowds of young enthusiasts, among them Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Brian Jones, all of whom participated at some point with the group's performances; others included Ian Stewart, Steve Marriott, Paul Jones, and Manfred Mann. In May of 1962, Blues Incorporated was invited to a regular residency at London's Marquee Club, where the crowds grew even bigger and more enthusiastic. The Blues Band - 2 albums: Stepping Out / Thank You Brother Ray

England's the Blues Band is led by ex-Manfred Mann vocalist Paul Jones and guitarist/vocalist Dave Kelly, who, before forming the group in 1979, had been a member of the John Dummer Blues Band and issued several solo recordings on his own (Kelly had also received praise for his playing by such blues legends as Howlin' Wolf and John Lee Hooker). After hooking up with friend/bassist Gary Fletcher, the seeds for the Blues Band were sown, resulting in countless albums (including such titles as 1980's Official Bootleg Album and Ready, 1981's Itchy Feet, 1982's Brand Loyalty which featured new member ex-Family drummer Rob Townsend, 1983's Bye Bye Blues, 1986's These Kind of Blues, 1989's Back for More, 1991's Fat City, 1993's Homage, and 1995's Wire Less, among others). In addition, Kelly formed the Dave Kelly Band in the mid-'80s (issuing four albums), penned music for commercials and such projects as BBC TV's King of the Ghetto and The Comic Strip Presents Strike!, has been voted Best Acoustic Artist by BBC polls throughout the '90s, and is an honorary patron of the London Guitar College with Hank Marvin. ~Greg Prato

“Tota” (Flavio Rigatozzo) was born on February 8th 1974 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He discovered the Blues after his teens and embraced them as a way of life. Thus, he founded TOTABLUES together with his childhood friend and guitar player Martin J. Merino in 1994. TOTABLUES is a traditional “south-side sound” blues band which recreates the most traditional and authentic electric blues from the golden years of Chicago. Influenced by harmonica players such as James Cotton, Sonny Boy Williamson or Jimmy Reed and great bluesmen like Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf or Willie Dixon among others, TOTABLUES offers real, deep and true Blues for the most demanding fans of this genre. Moreover, it must also be said that, apart from recreating and playing covers of Blues classics, TOTABLUES also has song of his own composition, true to the style.

With 25 years of career TOTA BLUES has taken part in several blues festivals in Spain and Argentina. Besides, it has also been the band of genuine Chicago bluesmen when they are on tour Spain or Europe. During the latest years, TOTA BLUES BAND has played with artists such as BOB MARGOLIN, BOB STROGER (on his Russian Tour), KENNY “BLUES BOSS” WAYNE, BARRELHOUSE CHUCK, LOUISIANA RED, JAMES WHEELER .Apart from this, it has been the opening act in concerts of bluesmen like PHIL GUY, DAVE MYERS, ARON BURTON, E.C. CAMPBELL and RAFUL NEAL, among others. Nowadays, TOTABLUES members live in Barcelona, Spain.

The project THE BLUES QUEEN is dedicated to evoking stories born on the Mississippi delta through raw sounds in the blues style. Two musicians with international experience, Mario Federico and Alessandra Bene, guitar and voice of the blues band Downtown Gang, together give life to an acoustic project focused on original songs and reinterpretations of the classics of the blues. To complete the trio, the bassist Marco Cattolico, rock musician with extensive experience in the field of ethnic-popular music. Acoustic and resophonic instruments, slides, self-made instruments like washboard and stomp box, are the essence of the band's sound that always manages to indelibly mark its performances. The powerful voice of Alessandra always warm becomes unmistakable with her "black" tone that unmistakably claims her crown. In March 2014 the first album "The Blues Queen" was recorded, presented in 2015 and distributed on the most important international musical stores. The band in 2016 enriches the artistic proposal by adding the electric set with the battery as an alternative proposal to the classic acoustic set, achieving considerable success. Reign of Blues is a powerful blues album. “Percy Fairweather” is the name used by the great Dennis Winters of The Winters Brothers Band and “The Storm” is the name taken on by Jamie LaRitz. Dennis handles the bulk of the vocals and plays guitar. Jaimie contributes vocals and plays lead and slide guitar, bass, keyboards, and drums. There are many musicians contributing to this superb production that include Chad Booher, Rick Brothers, and TJ Wilder on drums, and Joel “Taz” DiGregorio and Phil Wolfe on B3 organ. Dave Murphy also handles keyboard and there is some nice horn work with Matthew Randall on the sax and Charles J Reagan on the trumpet. There are many that lend their talents to the background vocals including Dennis’s daughters and grandchildren.

When I listen to this album, one of the many things that stand out is the unmistakable voice of Dennis Winters. The man’s got soul. Make no mistake, this is a blues album, but when I hear Dennis’s voice I can’t help but think of all the great Winters Brothers Band songs. Then there’s Jamie LaRitz absolutely ripping on lead and slide guitar. The guitar work on all songs between Jaimie and Dennis is excellent, and one of them that really astounds me is on “Don’t Get Me Started” at around 4:32 in the song where they roll into this unreal guitar solo. Just the way it transitions into it is really cool. And the interplay between keyboards and guitar reminds me of Billy Powell and Allen Collins or Gary Rossington of Lynyrd Skynyrd in the good old days. Or maybe even Charlie Daniels, Tom Crain and “Taz” DiGregorio of the Charlie Daniels Band. This possibly was influenced by the late great Joel “Taz” DiGregorio who plays the B3 organ on this album. ~rlock
