Any bio or band information, please?
hey justine, theyre a good band and i spent almost 2 hours researching on them but couldnt find anything on the web. hoping somebody could provide their bio or some info.
Here's info for both of these CDs:
Mississippi Mud:
Originally released in 2002. After leaving the Mississippi Mudsharks in 1999 and doing a solo CD under the name Tiki Torcher, Scottie "Mad Dog" Blinn hooked up with old friend Eric "Jailhouse" Von Herzen to form Mississippi Mud. Always looking to do something different, they decided to put out an acoustic CD....half live, and half studio. Lots of juke stompin' blues mixed with all styles of roots music, and a supporting cast of some of the best players Southern California has to offer.
The Hangin' Tree:
This 5 song EP was the final recording of Mississippi Mud, and the prelude to the Mississippi Mudshark's comeback CD, "Train Rolls On." The band featured Scottie "Mad Dog" Blinn (Mudsharks) on guitars/ vocals, and Eric "Jailhouse" Von Herzen (Rhythm Lords/ Social Distortion) on harp, as well as Ray Vincent (Bonecrusher) on vocals, Brian "Nucci" Cantrell (Billy Bacon/ Mother Hips) on drums, and Tony Tomlinson (Fremonts) on bass. The boys coined the term "Grease Punk" to describe the new sound - traditional roots music crossed with a punk attitude. Originally released in 2004.
Personal note: The band Mississippi Mud was formed out of the band Mississippi Mudsharks who later was re-united using the older band name (which is also mentioned in the info above). For the Mississippi Mudsharks/Mississippi Mud discography, see this link:

Mississippi Mud was born in early 1996 from the meeting between Alex Grassi (bass) and
John Paul Helie (singer guitarist).
A few months later Philippe Bouvard (drums) join them.
The group today has strengthened a keyboardist and harmonica: Dominique "Doumé" Gamberoni.
From 1996 to 2014 he was able to count among its members various musicians including:
Andy De Tollis (drums)
Maurice Braillard (drums)
Paolo Antonelli (harmonica)
Philippe Janin "Magic Phil" (harmonica)
Jean-Pierre Burkhardt (keyboard).
This collaboration has enabled Mississippi Mud perform more than 300 concerts
the most memorable of which were:
-The First part of Doctor Feelgood in 1997 (A.Grassi, JP.Helie, A.De Tollis, P.Antonelli).
-A Tour in Britain in 1999 (JP Helie, A.Grassi, P.Bouvard).
-The First part of Chuck Berry in 2002 (JP Helie, A.Grassi, P.Bouvard).
-The First part of Jerry Lee Lewis in 2004 (JP Helie, A.Grassi, P.Bouvard, P.Janin).
John Paul Helie (singer guitarist).
Born in Paris in 1955, it is the age of 12 he started playing guitar to devote himself much more seriously in the early 70s when he moved to Normandy.
He became a member of various groups juaqu'au early 80s.
"Tropical Desease", "Split", "Court Matignon" they will perform in concert in the Normandy region and more widely in the West of France.
A few years later, in 1983, Jean-Paul settled in the Geneva area where it will, again, of different formations whose ephemeral "Curistes" this until 1996 birth year of "Mississippi Mud Blues Band" .
John Paul - Alex - Philippe - Doumé
Dominique Gamberoni (keyboard & Harm).
President of the self-taught musician scene free association "fingerstyle" lovers of Blues and Rock, he abandoned keyboards to focus on harmonica (easier to carry than a B3).
He recovered, since 2011 the keyboards. And he joined us in "Mississippi Mud" since summer 2013.
@Daba .. unless you have already figured out for yourself, your info is for a band from Switzerland also using the name "Mississippi Mud". It is not for the US band in this post. Thanks nevertheless for your efforts and contributions to this site.
