The American blues guitarist Danny Adler, who performed in San Francisco in 1969 with blues and soul greats such as John Lee Hooker, T-Bone Walker and Solomon Burke, went to England in 1971, where he founded the band Roogalator. Roogalator was a welcome guest in the English (blues) club scene. Adler also played guitar in the boogie club Rocket 88 of Stones drummer Charlie Watts, Cream bassist Jack Bruce and Stones pianist Ian Stewart. In 1980, after the breakup of Roogalator, Adler formed the De Luxe Blues Band with ex-Alexis Korner and ex-Savoy Brown pianist Bob Hall, ex-Savoy Brown bassist Bob Brunning and ex-Jeff Beck drummer Micky Waller. Later, ex-Bluesbreakers saxophonist Dick Heckstall-Smith would also join the band.
