Southern California - home of fast cars, beautiful girls, sun-drenched beaches and ten guitar players on every block. Even in this musical madhouse, the cream has always risen to the top. Never has this been more evident than in this release by Steve Samuels. Born without a left hand, his arm ended just below the elbow. Nevertheless, he utilized it like a one-fingered wrist and picked a right hander's guitar by holding it upside down and backwards. Steve is completely dedicated to his art and employs taste and style. He has worked with Muddy Waters, Otis Spann, Roy Brown, George Smith and William Clarke, and he has been inducted into the Sacramento Blues Hall of Fame. Steve Samuels passed away 2014.

Personnel: Steve Samuels (guitar, vocals); David Fraser (keyboards, vocals); Michael J. Dohoney (drums, vocals); Danny Timms (keyboards, vocals); Alex Schulz (bass). Guests: William Clarke (harmonica track 11); Junior Watson (guitar tracks 1,8,13); Bill Stuve (bass tracks 1,8,13); Ed Mann (drums track 4); Mark Torsell (bass track 4); Rick Roche (lapsteel guitar track 4); Jimmie Bott (drums track 3); Freebo (bass tracks 2,6); Sinclair Lotte (drums tracks 2,6).

Fabulous guitarist & a great album. A criminally almost unknown under appreciated artist. It is worthwhile checking out some live footage on youtube to see how he overcame his disability.
