J. B. Hutto (April 26, 1926 – June 12, 1983) was an American blues musician. Hutto was influenced by Elmore James, and became known for his slide guitar work and declamatory style of singing. He was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame two years after his death.

Thanks for the JB Hutto - one of my favorites.
Why does every site I've seen this on title this album with 1984 as the year when it clearly says 1982 on the cover? Anyway, thanks a lot for this!
At Oldies.com this album is stated as "The Final Shows 1982" (see link below). And since JB Hutto died in 1983 that would be more correct (together with the fact that it says 1982 on the cover).

thanks guys for the alert. sorry to have overlooked that detail. changed all 1984 references in the post to 1982. you will have to change the album's tags yourself.
No problem Mr Tiggas. As Anonymous said, many sites have it entitled "Chicago Slide: Final Shows 1984" for some reason despite what it says on the cover and the fact that JB Hutto was dead by then. Anyway, to me the case is closed. :-)
