Grapetown Rail marks a return to his solo acoustic guitar prowess, as Mark Searcy showcases his finger-style and bottleneck approach on a variety of solo and mainly original pieces.

Arkansas native Mark Searcy Middleton has a unique and diverse musical background. He picked up the guitar for a brief 5 years and put it down for 15 to raise a family. Mark began playing again as a form of rehabilitation after a work accident severely damaged several fingers, and soon immersed himself in the pre-war blues of the 1920s and 30s. His solo recording of Blind Man's Blues earned his first nomination as "Musician of the Year" at the 2007 Texas Music Awards; he later won the award for his 2014 release of the CD "Hazepipe". To date, Mark has won 10 music awards, released 10 CDs, and made multiple appearances at the International Blues Challenge on Beale Street in Memphis, Tennessee. He has also performed at Club Ebony, the oldest juke joint in Mississippi; the Historic Victory Grill, the oldest blues club in Austin, Texas; and Telluride Colorado as a Top 5 national finalist in the nationwide Acoustic Blues Challenge.
