Luther Tucker - Guitar & vocals; Danny Adler - Guitar & vocals; Andy La Fone - Bass; Les Morgan - Drums; Jill Baxler - Harmonica (Track 9). Recorded Live June 28, 1982 at The Quadrige, Brussels Belgium.
Danny Adler in 1981 achieved a new exalted status in the London Blues’s community on account of his membership in Rocket 88 and The DeLuxe Blues Band which featured such luminaries as Charlie Watts, Ian Stewart, Jack Bruce, Micky Waller and Alexis Korner. Consequently, Danny became the first call band leader when a visiting vintage Blues hero from the USA required a smoking combo who could really do justice to their material. During the 1980’s, Danny backed up Dave Van Ronk, Lowell Fulson, Cleanhead Vinson, Memphis Slim, Luther Tucker, Charles Brown, Little Willie Littlefield and many others. In June of 1982 while on tour in Belgium and Holland, The Danny Adler Band was booked to do back-up for the brilliant Chicago Blues guitarist Luther Tucker. Luther began his career in the early 1950’s, Chicago’s peak Blues years as a disciple of Robert Jr. Lockwood and subsequently gigged with such luminaries as Elmore James and Muddy Waters. He also recorded extensively with Sonny Boy Williamson, Little Walter and James Cotton. In This album, Luther clearly enjoys a wonderful Bluesy rapport with Danny, his band and a very appreciative audience. Not only are some serious Blues delivered here, but also the groovy late night cafe ambience of a mellow Brussels evening.

Wow - always a pleasant surprise here. I've loved Luther Tucker for a long time, and recently became a fan of Danny Adler - so this is a real treat.
