Anyone with the slightest interest in Charles should investigate this material. It's amazing to hear Charles' metamorphosis from silky-voiced pop crooning (imitating his idols Charles Brown and Nat King Cole) into his passionate gospel-powered voice shortly after he signed with Atlantic Records in 1952. ~Al Campbell
