No matter what musical turn singer/guitarist Duke Robillard chooses to incorporate, it is always steeped in the blues. Explorer is his second release on the Shanachie label and integrates jazz ("You Mean Everything to Me" and "Jumpin With Duke"), horn laden soul ("Male Magnet," "Just between Me and You"), New Orleans-style rumba ("Sayin Don't Make It So"), and even Celtic overtones ("Lonesome Old Town").
