Harmonica player Paul Orta has turned his back on his hometown of Austin, Texas. Now resident in Europe, he has recorded this beautiful new set of classic Chicago style blues - in Germany. The concept is almost minimal art, with no bass. Producer Michael Maass tried to recapture the original feel and sound of his favorite blues recordings. And he did very well. Not just Orta, but also his partners did a great job.
Powered by Paul Orta's fat and powerful tone the trio has recorded a great album of mostly covers from the era when harmonicas were the lead instrument in electric blues. Execllent, and recommended for all fans of retro style blues.
