Born and bred in Detroit “Motor” city, Kevin Russell grew up with the soulful “Motown” sound of the Funk Brothers, the immortal blues by the three(3) kings (B.B., Freddie and Albert), and the rock ‘n’ roll grit of bands ala “Grand Funk Railroad”. Musical influences that have shaped Kevin’s playing ever since. Kevin is always blending the ever important “feel good” bluesy rhythms, with soulful melodies, and delivers it with “motor city” attitude.
