A style described as alternate swamp roots, Swann bridges the gap between gospel and old school Rn B performing original and authentic roots music. Swann’s music career began as a session freelance drummer working in Australia and internationally with many well known artists, culminating in 2005 with the release of his first solo album “The Braves”. An all-original country/jazz brew, Swann wrote, produced, engineered and laid down vocals, drums, guitars, piano and harps in his home studio.
Over the past 20 years Swann has performed his eclectic mix of blues and jazz in the USA, Australia, Japan, China, UK and at many of Europe’s music festivals including Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, Finland, Denmark and Sweden.

It sounds like a trivia question. Whose album contains covers of songs by Howlin' Wolf, Robert Johnson, Son House, Tampa Red, Slim Harpo, Bob Dylan and the Bee Gees? OK, it is obviously this one, but asked anywhere else and there would be head scratching and not a lot of answers. The amazing thing is, it works. Andrew Swann is a multi-instrumentalist, playing drums, guitars, harmonica and keyboards, but it is his voice that realises the ambition. He opens with a sweet, laid back vocal on his own Time is Tight, recalling such artists as J.J.Cale and Steve Forbert. But when it comes to the Wolf's songs, he has a blues growl straight from Chicago's Southside.
