Midge Marsden is one of those guys that deserves a statue in a New Plymouth park… He’s a harp blowing bluesologist who’s had a passion for rhythm and blues spanning four decades. He was voted NZ Entertainer of the Year in 1990 and his ‘Burning Rain’ album from a year later still stands the test of time. Midge has toured the USA numerous times and traded licks with the real dealers. His knowledge of the blues includes a Diploma in Southern Studies when he graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1996. Midge is truly the sum of all his parts.
